ekspo selangkah 2010

SPM result just came out last week. consequently, we have successfully organized ekspo selangkah 2010 on 16 - 17 march 2010. the main objective was to give information as well as to promote uitm as the best university among the best to the potential candidates especially spm holders. this is the annual activity held by uitm all over malaysia. as to Perak, we targeted our potential 'customers' by opening kiosk/ booth in 5 places; bangunan gunasama persekutuan ipoh, dewan majlis perbandaran teluk intan, dewan merdeka manjung, dewan MPT kamunting, taiping dan dewan seri iskandar, uitm perak.this was my 2nd time taking part in this ekspo after 2008

we had fun explainining all information being asked by the crowd (tak menang mulut dibuatnya). starting from 8.30am, parents, spm-students, even diploma and degree holders, they all came by to get as much information as they could before finalising their decision in choosing the most suitable and interesting courses. the amount kept bigger and bigger as the day moved on till 5.00pm.

our children nowadays are very lucky as they are exposed to quite enough information to know what courses they are qualified to, what the courses are all about and which one they are interested in. back in my time 15 years ago, i just chose what i interested in and filled up the form without knowing (or knew just a little bit) what shall i learn in that course. with the rapid development of technology, we now can easily know what courses are we qualified to by keying- in the spm/ stpm results. the system will list all courses offered by univ. with the 'tick' for the qualified one and 'x' for the unqualified. thus, we just reject the cross one and get information for the tick one.

end of the 2nd day, we were very tired,exhausted, less energy, yet very much satisfied, happy, fun and proud for making the public clear about the courses offered by uitm. very much thanks and congrats to all petugas and ajks. glad to meet you all. till we meet again in the next ekspo.

my,my..careless mistake again. i left my watch for the 2nd time (read here for the 1st). i left it in the toilet when i was in the ekspo. 2 hours past, then i realized. rushing to the toilet with the hope it will still there, but it was not. so frustrated and worried. glad to see makcik cleaner then i asked her about the watch. she knew nothing. alamak..ayyaa..alahai..but she brought me to see the maintenance office. again, frustrated. with muka risau, sedih, frust giler, i keluar ofis, passed by the customer service counter. suddenly, aci guard asked me what i was looking for. i told her, my watch. then..she showed me one. OMG, thank you Allah. thank you very much. the watch still wanted to be with me. i couldnt say anything except thanking to her. someone gave to her, she said. regardless who she was, i thank you very very much. there is still good person in this world. sayang woo..jam tu ada sentimental value. a gift from my abe.

majlis kemuncak bulan kualiti

finally, after postponed several times, we had successfully held this 'big' event. the ending of sambutan bulan kualiti 2009, where i took part in nasyid competition (read the posting), one of the activities held.. it was a great honour to held this majlis in front of our new vice canselor. This event actually the event of award-giving to those who won the competitions and who performed excellent in 2009. congratulation to my colleagues, pn enny and pn naimah yahya for being awarded anugerah perkhidmatan cemerlang 2009. also goes to my faculty, won 2nd place in 5S competition.

kursus asas fasilitator

it was the 2nd programme handled by us, AJK for this semester (read the1st task). alhamdulillah, it was better. all lent their hands including our director, preparing files, sweets, asam, clearing them afterwards. thanks a lot.

what it's all about?
ketua koordinator FPTP, as the penceramah for the whole one-day course, gave us tips2  how to be a good fasilitator, besides our stated tugas hakiki. the criteria, the personality of the fasi, how to tackle students, how to control the situation and feeling, how to deal with different style of students, be nice but still being respected, and many many more tips. in short, our job is not just the matter of finishing the syllabus, it's beyond that. we have to be a facilitator as well, help students to build their inner strength so that they truly know what they are doing right now, how and why.

CNY @ kampung

Chinese new year has past last week. Me also got 1 week mid-sem break. We took this opportunity to go back to kampung since our last holiday in december 09. One n a half months, quite a long period for me not to face my parents, siblings, in-laws (n relatives), even in 2 weeks time has considered ‘lamanyaa lah weii’. I was glad to meet my youngest sis, dik nor, chit-chat, laugh, story, n even cried together..it’s been quite a long time since our last meeting. Almaklumlah, masing2 keje. She always on-call. Miss that time so much. and i do miss my times together with my siblings masa zaman dulu2, very much. Abe li, abe le, kak yah, nini..now they have their own families, bz with their works, so do i. Masa cuti ni lah berpeluang nk berjumpa dgn semua. Too sad, nini couldnt make it. Anyway..lets story-telling through phone, ok nini.


In kampung, dik nor n i treated kfc to all (kfc lagi). Lupa plak nk amik gambar. Bz layan karenah budak2.hehe. we always plan to makan2 when we are it kampung, so that we can sit together at one time. Sometimes, nini paid, then me, dik nor, kak yah, or we shared among us. We have kfc time, pizza (home-made), bbq, sate and brthday bash. Here some pics of the sweet times, held somewhere in december last year.

i got good news in kampung. finally, i’ll be getting new in-law (long awaited). On my side, i had welcomed my last in-law somewhere in jun 09 (read my posting). On my abe side, we were the last couple entertained. 6 years have been waiting for another wedding event. this time, we shall have one, his brother, no 5 in his family. merisik session? done last week. tie the knot?planned during march's school break and wedding? jun's school break. insyaAllah. cant wait. i love going 'belaghok (kelantan word)', which means reception la (hantar pengantin, sambut menantu). if it's meant to be, we'll build another silaturrahim with people in trengganu. till next posting.

PKA 17 & Survival 4 @ Kem Pangkor Rimba

Our next PKA and Survival programmes continued (click here for previous PKA). This time we held at pangkor rimba kem, pulau pangkor. Previously, we used to separate the 2 programmes, PKA stood on its own, same goes to Survival . In line with the effort to save cost, we combined them together, chaired by one person, Puan Nik, held at the same place, same date but still maintain their respective objectives. PKA to motivate the ‘special’ diploma students and Survival to change mind of new degree students from ‘spoon-feed’ practices to ‘stand-on-their-own-feets’ practices.

We went there by 3 busses and 1 van to fit 100++ persons. I left behind my husband and my heroes (sedih dan kesian) for 3 days and 2 nights. Do you believe that this was the first time i was in ferry?what a shame.hehe.and you imagine, how to handle 100++ people, with a lot of things to bring with. Alhamdulillah, all went good.

I used to be PKA’s committes for the last 2 semester. This semester, i was put under Survival’s committe as AJK Makanan (the most important portfolio.hehe). As refers to the term ‘survival’, they must prepare the foods themselves. And yes, they did. We alltogether prepared dinner for 2 days. In terms of outdoor activities and facilities, no different between PKA and Survival except for LDK times. They have different session of LDK. they all stayed in tents (AJKs stayed in chalets.hehe).

Place?the natural scenery is very very nice, beautiful, calm, broad, clean. Yet, we were very dissappointed with the kem’s management. My chalet was so hot (aircond tk sejuk), the hall as well. Other chalets were no problem. Tempat makan?toilet?oowh..very2 bad. I bet, if it’s not because of the natural beauty, the kem will not survive. This pangkor rimba kem is about 15 – 30 minutes from pangkor jetty by taxi (pink van). And about 15 minutes to tmpt tumpuan yg ada kedai byk2. If you want to feel the beautiful scene, no transport, have your own foods, i suggest u to come here. you can either rent the tents for RM10 per person or get RM150 chalets, (the cost will be different seasonally). You can call taxi to bring u to the makan2 places and be ready to pay them up to RM 12 per one way. Or maybe you can rent a car (lupa plak berapa sewanya).

If i’ll be here for the next holiday, i’ve planned to get the place near the makan2 places. Easy to buy something. No need to get taxi except for pergi dan balik.

you know what, i almost lost my watch. at that time, i was 'busy' to feel the beauty of nature. sedar tak sedar, i left the watch somewhere on the sand. when i realized it, i went back to the seaside and meraba2 atas pasir (almaklumlah, masa tu dh gelap) and..alhamdulillah, i found my lovely watch. it was a gift from my abe for my first birthday after our marriage. cant imagine if i lost it.
